Small weddings at The Ivy Dawson Street Dublin

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]The Ivy restaurant on Dawson Street in Dublin is where Daniel and Maria decided to have their small intimate wedding reception over the Christmas period lat last year.

It was a day full of joy and emotion as, like many couples, Daniel and Maria had endured a rollercoaster of “on-off” dates due to the pandemic in 2020.

A wedding initially scheduled for the National concert hall got postponed and changed as they were only allowed 25 guests.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_height_percent=”0″ override_padding=”yes” h_padding=”2″ top_padding=”3″ bottom_padding=”3″ overlay_alpha=”50″ gutter_size=”3″ column_width_percent=”100″ shift_y=”0″ z_index=”0″][vc_column column_width_percent=”100″ position_vertical=”middle” align_horizontal=”align_center” gutter_size=”3″ overlay_alpha=”50″ shift_x=”0″ shift_y=”0″ shift_y_down=”0″ z_index=”0″ medium_width=”0″ mobile_width=”0″ width=”1/1″][vc_single_image media=”3698″ media_width_percent=”100″ alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_custom_heading]The Ivy restaurant Dawson Street Dublin[/vc_custom_heading][vc_column_text]Like a lot of my small weddings last year, the size of the crowd did not diminish the occasion.

In fact, I found all of the smaller weddings I have filmed have been more emotional and the guests and families seem to have a stronger “connection” on the day.
More unity for the couple, perhaps.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image media=”3699″ media_width_percent=”100″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_custom_heading heading_semantic=”h3″ text_size=”h3″]Small weddings, big in heart.[/vc_custom_heading][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Daniel is Portuguese and his family, including his mother and grandmother, travelled over to Ireland 2 weeks prior to the wedding so they could quarantine and be allowed to attend the special day.

After a lovely church ceremony in Swords, we headed off to Maria’s brother’s house for the private drinks reception before heading on to the city centre and The Ivy restaurant on Dawson street.

While the crowd got settled in the beautiful The Jonathan Swift Room in The Ivy, photographer Gareth McGaughey and myself took the loved up couple over to Grafton Street for the last few portraits and to capture the essence of a small wedding in Dublin.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
